I am taking this class so I can take better pictures of motion. I want to take a clear picture of a horse jumping or a bird flying when I only have a second to get the shot.
The first chapter talks of shutter speed, the smaller the shutter speed the sharper a moving object will be, and of aperture which should be raised to correspond with the shutter speed. If the aperture is not raised then the picture will be too dark when the shutter speed is lowered. Panning, moving the camera to follow the moving object, can also be used in order to keep the moving object sharp while blurring the background.
